Day Fourteen - Bees in the garden
One of the ideas for the 30 Days Wild project was to follow a bee around the garden. I failed on this as I couldn't keep up with the first bee I chose......
......once it had left the lupin behind.
There were loads of smaller bees on the herbs in the herb bed, they were buzzing around the chives and thyme.
of course they didn't stay still long enough to take clear photos
Well, you might guess that rain stopped play again
so I retreated indoors my wild adventure over with for today.
But.......
We had planted some more flowers for bees earlier
Verbena Bonariensis grown from seeds in little plug pots and then transferred to larger pots now ready to take their place in the garden - these should last into September once they have flowered, I hope. Apparently these will attract both bees and butterflies.
It's going to be a lovely garden for bees later in the year!
ReplyDeleteNice shots Rosie. I tried to follow a bee once but gave up near enough straight away.
